Prof.Dr. Nilgün Kıran Cılız graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Department of Chemical Engineering and continued her doctorate studies at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, on the topic of “Energy and Petrochemicals from Plastic Wastes” and completed at Boğaziçi University, Institute of Environmental Sciences.
She completed her post-doctoral studies on “Life Cycle Assessment” at the Technical University of Denmark, Institute of Product Development. She is continuing her academic career as a full-time faculty member at Boğaziçi University, Institute of Environmental Sciences.
Her lectures concentrate on pollution prevention, resource conservation topics for energy, biofuels and chemical production including life cycle assessment applications. She focuses on driving forces that influence the production and consumption patterns of natural resources to evaluate their impacts on ecosystem quality, human health, and material welfare.
