Call for Applications: Researcher Opportunities in Finance

Candidates who have been admitted to a thesis-based Master’s or PhD program and
are interested in pursuing research in CARF’s areas of focus, particularly Fintech
and Sustainable Finance, may join CARF as researchers alongside their graduate
studies and may be considered for financial support.

As part of the application process, candidates must first apply to the relevant
graduate program (please see below). Candidates admitted to the program may then
submit their application files to CARF for evaluation for the researcher position.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

Software Developer – Research Project

CARF – Center for Applied Research in Finance is seeking a Software Developer to join a 6-month finance-focused research project.

We welcome applications from senior undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students in engineering programs across all universities.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are interested in research-oriented work and eager to contribute to applied finance projects involving data, software development, and technology infrastructure.


Position Details

Position: Software Developer
Duration: 6 months
Location: Boğaziçi University, Kandilli Campus, Istanbul

General Requirements

Applicants are expected to meet the following general requirements:

  • Senior undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD student in an engineering program at a recognized university
  • Strong interest and aptitude for research-oriented work
  • Strong sense of teamwork and responsibility
  • Relevant project or internship experience ( preferred )

Role Requirements

Candidates for the Software Developer position are expected to have experience or interest in the following areas:

  • R programming (base R, tidyverse,data.table)
  • Python programming
  • Database management (MariaDB) and SQL
  • HTTP, cURL, and web scraping
  • JSON, HTML, and XPath
  • Shiny and front-end web development
  • Basic knowledge of finance and investments

System & Database Administrator – Research Project

CARF – Center for Applied Research in Finance is seeking a System & Database Administrator to join a 6-month finance-focused research project.

We welcome applications from senior undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students in engineering programs across all universities.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are interested in research-oriented technical work and would like to contribute to the system, database, and infrastructure side of finance-focused academic research projects.


Position Details

Position: System & Database Administrator
Duration: 6 months
Location: Boğaziçi University, Kandilli Campus, Istanbul
