CARF Board Member and Boğaziçi University Institute of Environmental Sciences faculty member Prof. Dr. Nilgün Kıran Cılız took part as a speaker in the session titled “The Circular Harvest: Feeding the World Without Costing the Earth” at NextGenCOP30.5, held at Istanbul Democracy and Freedom Island between August 27 and September 1, 2026.
Organized in partnership with Cemre Vakfı and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye, in collaboration with Istanbul Technical University, NextGenCOP30.5 brought together university students from around the world for a six-day international climate diplomacy simulation.
Beyond negotiations, the program offered participants the opportunity to engage with keynote speeches, expert panels, workshops, climate initiatives, investors, policymakers and sector leaders, exploring how innovation, entrepreneurship, technology and sustainable business models can accelerate climate action.
