CARF and Mücevher İhracatçıları Birliği (MİB) have signed a cooperationprotocol to establish the Gold Policy Lab (Altın Politikaları Merkezi) withinCARF.

The cooperation protocol was formally signed on 9 October 2026 by Prof. Dr. Vedat Akgiray, Chairman of the Board of CARF, and Mustafa Özcan, Chairman of the Board of Mücevher İhracatçıları Birliği (MİB).

The Gold Policy Lab will operate as an academically independent policy research platform focused on Türkiye’s financial, commercial and economic gold ecosystem. Through scientific research, policy analysis and stakeholder engagement, the Lab aims to develop evidence-based policy recommendations and contribute to Türkiye’s positioning as a regional and global gold hub.

Its research agenda will cover a broad range of areas, including gold market regulation, gold financing and financial products, import and export policies, digital gold and tokenization, taxation and regulation, as well as international comparative policy analysis.

The Gold Policy Lab will also support knowledge production and policy dialogue through policy reports, white papers, sector analyses, regulatory impact assessments, roundtable discussions, workshops and national and international conferences, bringing together academia, policymakers and industry stakeholders.

Through this cooperation, CARF will lead the Lab’s academic and research activities, while MİB will contribute sector knowledge, field experience and stakeholder perspectives. The initiative aims to strengthen the bridge between research, industry and policymaking and to contribute to the development of Türkiye’s gold ecosystem.

We look forward to developing the #Gold Policy Lab into a reference platform for research and policy dialogue on gold markets and contributing to Türkiye’s growing role in the global gold ecosystem.
