Co-organised by IETA and Gaia Climate, the Dialogue brought together policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, international organisations and market participants to discuss the evolving carbon market landscape and Türkiye’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.
The programme covered key topics including Türkiye’s Emissions Trading System (ETS), the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and competitiveness, carbon market standards, and the financing of the green transition.
Prof. Dr. Vedat Akgiray, Chairman of the Board of CARF, participated as a panelist in the session “Türkiye ETS: Turning the New Framework into Action.” The session focused on the practical implementation of Türkiye’s ETS, including emissions permitting, monitoring, reporting and verification, allowance allocation and market operation.
Across the day, the discussions highlighted the importance of building effective carbon market mechanisms that can support investment, competitiveness and Türkiye’s broader green transition.
As an Institutional Sponsor, CARF was pleased to contribute to this important platform for dialogue between academia, regulators, financial institutions and industry.
We would like to thank T.C. İklim Değişikliği Başkanlığı for its patronage and engagement, and Gaia Climate and IETA for bringing together such a diverse group of stakeholders for a timely and substantive discussion.
