The project supports national alignment efforts with the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) approach as defined in Annex 1 and 2 of the Industrial Emissions Directive (2010/75/EU) published by the European Union. In this context, it aims to enhance environmental sustainability capacity across Türkiye’s industrial sectors, accelerate green transition processes, and strengthen compliance with EU environmental legislation. Furthermore, the project includes efforts to reinforce the institutional infrastructure required for the transition to the Industrial Green Transformation Certification System, particularly for the activity groups listed in Annex I of the Industrial Emissions Directive. In this regard, it seeks to define the training requirements for chief experts and experts who will be responsible for the management of the system, establish their working procedures and principles, and prepare the relevant technical documentation.
